RKAGB offers traditional Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu classes in Hounslow
Ryukyu Kobujutsu Association of Great Britain (RKAGB)

The RKAGB, through Julian Mead Shihan (8th Dan Yiu Shin Kai Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu), provides training in the comprehensive system of Ryukyu Kobujutsu as compiled by Motokatsu Inoue Hanshi (1918–1993) at the request of his teacher, Taira Shinken.

Training includes Kata, Kumite, Bunkai, and Embu for all eight weapons of Ryukyu Kobujutsu: Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Nunchaku, Kama, Tekko, Tinbe Rochin, and Surijin. The depth of study also includes the historical aspects of Kobujutsu and its overlap with Karate.

The RKAGB was formally established in 1995 as the UK branch of the Honbu Dojo in Japan. However, Sensei Mead had been teaching both Karate and Kobujutsu since 1986, following his return from training directly under Motokatsu Inoue in Japan. There are practising clubs and affiliated dojos across England, Scotland, and Ireland. Julian Mead Shihan also oversees the development of Kobujutsu in other countries that have requested his teaching and guidance.

Regular RKAGB open courses held throughout the UK enable students to refine and diversify their learning. These courses sometimes include instruction from teachers from the Honbu Dojo in Japan. There are also opportunities to train on open courses organised both in the UK and abroad by other organisations who have invited Julian Mead Shihan to teach and oversee their development.
